We use our own cookie and analytics tools to understand how people find and use Calorize. If you came from a Google ad, we tell Google when you sign up or buy, to measure that ad. There are no ads inside the app. Your choice is remembered for a year.
How to turn it on
Sync is available only in the Calorize mobile app (iOS or Android) — Apple Health and Health Connect live on the phone itself, so they're not accessible from a browser or the PWA.
- Update the app to the latest version from the store.
- Open Profile → Health sync.
- Tap "Connect" → allow the data you want in the system dialog.
On Android you need Health Connect — on Android 14 and later it's already built into the system (find it in Settings); on older versions install it from the Play Store.
What Calorize sends to Health
- calories and macros (protein, fat, carbs, fiber, sugar, sodium, saturated fat) from the meals you log;
- water intake;
- the weight you enter manually in Calorize;
- your calculated body-fat percentage (from circumference measurements).
Data updates automatically: edit or delete a meal and Health soon shows the day's correct numbers.
What Calorize reads from Health
- weight from smart scales (Renpho, Withings, Xiaomi/Mi and others) — it fills your diary with a "Health" badge;
- steps, workouts and sleep — as context for Mira's daily and weekly analysis.
Important: activity is never turned into extra calories in your budget — Mira uses it only as context. Why — see Why Calorize doesn't give calories back for workouts.
Manual entry always wins
If you enter weight manually in Calorize, it wins over the Health value and is not overwritten by sync. Health weight only fills the days where you didn't enter anything yourself.
Why weight from your phone doesn't show up in Calorize
The most common reason is that the data never reaches the Health store — not a Calorize problem. Calorize reads what's in Apple Health / Health Connect; if it's empty there, there's nothing to read.
- Samsung Health: weight entered manually there often does NOT reach Health Connect (mostly Galaxy Watch measurements do). Check: open Health Connect → "Data and access" → "Weight" — is there an entry from Samsung Health? If not, it's simpler to enter weight directly in Calorize or use your smart-scale app, which writes to Health Connect directly.
- Make sure the source app (Samsung Health, your scale app, etc.) has weight sync to Health Connect / Apple Health enabled.
- After the data appears in Health, minimize and reopen Calorize — sync picks up new data when you return to the app.
Turning sync off
Profile → Health sync → "Disconnect". Already-imported data stays in Calorize. To revoke the permissions themselves, use the Apple Health / Health Connect app on your phone.
