Mira is the AI assistant in your diary chat. She replies to messages, adds food, looks up products, recognizes photos, and manages what she remembers about you. Each AI request uses model-side compute, so interactions are limited. On the free plan that is a one-time starter package; on paid plans it is a daily limit.
The key thing to understand: one action can cost more than one interaction, because the AI sometimes works in two steps. Here is exactly what each method costs.
How many interactions each action costs
- A text message to Mira — 1 interaction. You type, Mira replies.
- A voice message — 2 interactions. First the AI turns your audio recording into text (1), then Mira processes that text and replies (2). So dictating always costs twice as much as typing the same thing.
- A photo of a dish or label — usually 2 interactions. First the AI recognizes the photo and identifies the product and its calories/macros (1). Then Mira logs it: a dish right away at the estimated weight, while for a label she asks how much to log and adds it once you reply (2).
- A barcode scan:
- If the product is already in our database, the scan itself is free (just a regular lookup). To log it, Mira asks for the portion — that is 1 interaction.
- If the barcode is not in the database, the AI first builds the new product card (1), and when you give the portion it adds the item to your diary (2). That is 2 interactions in total.
What does not use interactions
- Manual product search in the catalog.
- Adding an already-found product to your diary.
- Editing grams, body measurements, or weight.
- Viewing your stats, diary, or goals.
So if you want to conserve interactions, most actions can be done manually, fully without Mira.
How to see what’s left
When you are getting close to the limit, a yellow warning banner appears in Mira’s chat. If you do not see it, you still have enough interactions for a typical day.
How the plans differ
- Free — a one-time starter package so you can try Mira, with her memory switched on for the whole of it. Once it is spent there is no daily top-up.
- Premium — a daily limit that is usually enough for full diary use.
- Max — a much higher request limit than Premium, plus more memory slots. Memory itself comes with both paid plans, and with the free starter package.
Plan details are available on the Pricing page.
What to do when you reach the limit
On a paid plan — wait until the next day; the counter resets automatically at midnight in your own timezone.
On the free plan — the starter package is one-time and does not refill. To keep chatting with Mira you need a subscription.
Either way:
- You can add food manually through the regular diary search — that needs no AI and stays free forever.
- The diary, water, weight, workouts and measurements all work without Mira.
Tips for saving interactions
- Type instead of speaking when you can — it is twice as efficient.
- Put several products into one message: “For breakfast I had 60 g oatmeal, a banana, and black coffee”.
- If a food is already in the catalog, add it directly without Mira.
- For packaged products already in our database, scan the barcode — the lookup itself is free, so you only spend 1 interaction confirming the portion (cheaper than a photo or voice).
