Description and reported dosing

What is AOD-9604?

A fragment of human growth hormone: amino acids 177 to 191, the tail of the molecule. It was designed to keep growth hormone's fat-releasing action without the effects on blood sugar and appetite that the whole hormone brings.

Its development history matters more than the marketing. Metabolic Pharmaceuticals took it through clinical trials as an obesity drug and stopped. A 12-week study at 1 mg a day reported about 2.6 kg lost against 0.8 kg on placebo. The larger 24-week trial, with 536 participants, found no statistically significant weight loss, and the programme was terminated.

Medical Reality Check

Rapid weight loss burns muscle along with fat — that is what sits behind Ozempic face. Enough protein is what separates the two.
